
How do children learn not to touch a hot stove? They do it once, feel the pain, and remember not to do it again. There are some points in life when you don't learn the first time and you heve to experience the pain a couple of times before you get it.
But like the child who stops touching the stove, if you can learn from your pain the first time you get hurt, you won't have to keep making the same mistakes over and over again.
Growing is a liftime job, and we grow most when we're down in the valley, where the fertilizer is.
